Strathaven Sunday School - November News

October has been and gone in a flash and winter is well and truly upon us!

The children in the Sunday School have been enjoying a whole range of different activities to help them think about our theme of ‘Shining the Light’ and how they can be good examples to others.

In November we are linking our theme to all of the lights that shine in our world – looking at the fireworks that light up the sky on Bonfire Night and the shining lights that we remember on Remembrance Sunday.

Sunday 18 November is when we begin all things CHRISTMAS! This will be the launch of our Christmas nativity – thinking about a very special shining light – the Christmas star! Each week thereafter we will be practicing so attendance at as many of the Sundays in the lead up would be much appreciated. The Nativity will be on Sunday, 23 December – if you could let us know if your child will be there on that Sunday it would help us with our planning – many thanks.

Our Christmas parties this year will be on Sunday, 16 December. Crèche – Primary 3 will have a Christmas party with special visitor from 3 - 5pm. Primary 4 – Youth Group will have a Christmas pizza and movie night from 6.30 – 8.30pm. More information to follow but if you could let us know if your child can make it to their party that would be much appreciated.

Dates: Sunday 11 November – Remembrance Sunday – church begins at 11.30am.
